How to cook asparagus on the grill
Learning to cook steamed asparagus on the grill is easy,
requires few ingredients and takes only a few minutes. Steamed asparagus are
healthy super food cooked in a way that maintains all tastes and properties of
the stud. These studs are perfect to accompany dishes such as grilled meat or
baked salmon.
Instructions
Place a piece of aluminium foil square, and about 30cm
square, on a table. Place a tablespoon of butter in the centre of the sheet (or
about the same amount of olive oil, whichever you prefer)
Wash the asparagus (if not organic). Shake off excess water
and place on cutting board. Cutting about 3 inches from the bottom of each
lance. Make sure you remove the hard white ends of each of the spears. Use as
fertilizer ends discarded.
Place the trimmed asparagus in foil, on the butter or olive
oil in the centre of the sheet. Season with salt and black pepper. For 10
spears, use a pinch of black pepper and two pinches of salt. You can also add
other spices at this time and know that asparagus well absorbed most flavours.
It is delicious with everything from cumin to garlic, thyme or oregano. If
using butter, cut two or three tablespoons of butter and break it into small
squares. Add them on top of the asparagus seasoned and extended manner. If you
are using olive oil, sprinkle with a few tablespoons more asparagus.
Take the ends of the aluminium square and securely double so
as to form something similar to a package. Its okay to leave a little breathing
room, but not too large.
Place the foil packet on the grill, away from the centre,
where the heat is greatest. For firmer asparagus, cook for about 4-6 minutes.
If what you want is more tender asparagus, cook for about 7-9 minutes.
You can use your grill clip to stir while cooking package,
helping to butter or oil impregnated better with the spices. Remove from heat
and serve steamed asparagus.
